Tim had the desire to be a funeral director since the age of 10. While attending the funeral of his grandmother, a family friend offered a tour of the funeral home and that’s where it began. After high school, Tim enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps. While serving his country, he completed his preliminary education requirements for a mortuary college. He attended the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science and graduated in 1986. Tim then served his funeral director internship with a firm in the suburbs of the Pittsburgh area. After receiving his funeral director/embalmer license, he took a position with a family owned funeral home, working with them for 24 years, before purchasing it himself in 2011. He ran a successful and thriving business for 12 years, when the decision was made to take a step back and retire. Now a retired funeral director/embalmer, and selling the funeral homes he owned and worked with his wife, Laurie Rhea FD, it was easy to see that there was still much left to offer others in the death care industry. Being well-versed in the industry and day-to-day operations, and having the knowledge and understanding that selling a funeral home is different than selling any other kind of business, he and Laurie decided to onboard with The Decain Group and bring their experience and hard work ethic to the table to help others in the industry.
